Location

Villa Colonnata is located above Ronti on the Castiglion Fiorentino - Città di Castello road (SP104). If you’re driving south on the A1 autostrada from Firenze or other cities in the north, the easiest way to reach Villa Colonnata is to take the Arezzo exit from the A1 which is about 50km south of Firenze.

When you exit the toll station take a right turn, following the signs to Città di Castello and Sansepolcro and road. Continue along this road until you reach Le Ville. Turn right following the signs for Città di Castello and Monterchi. After about 12kms, before entering Città di Castello turn right in the direction of Trestina and Cortona. After about 10kms you will arrive in San Secondo.

Turn right in the direction of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina. Follow this road for 3kms. When you arrive at Gioiello, just after the minimarket, turn left into via Leonardo da Vinci following the signs for Trevine. Trevine is a very small village, as soon as you arrive you will see a road going down on the left and after 200metres it will become an unpaved track.

After a short distance the road forks, take the road on the right which goes uphill. You will see a sign indicating Villa Colonnata on a tree, take the turn right and after about 20 metres take the road on the left that goes downhill. Continue for approx. 400 metres and you will see the Villa in front of you.

To get to Villa Colonnata from the centre of Rome, head north towards the ring road (tangenziale) and follow signs for the A1, direction Firenze. From the tangenziale, take exit 9-10 for Firenze and continue in the direction for Orte for approximately one hour. Take the E45 exit at Orte, direction Perugia and Cesena. Continue along the E45 for another hour, passing by Perugia and take the exit for Promano.

Follow directions for Città di Castello, passing through Cinquemiglia. Turn left at the roundabout, direction Trestina. Continue along this road and you’ll arrive at a sign announcing you are in Trestina. After 200 meters turn right, following the signs for San Secondo. After 4kms, turn left in the direction of Monte Santa Maria Tiberina. Follow this road for 3kms. From Milan follow the A1 in the direction of Bologna. When you reach Bologna follow signs for Cesena and Rimini (E45). Just before Cesena look out for signs for the E45 and take it in the direction of Perugia and Roma (south). Continue along the E45 for approximately one hour and take the Città di Castello Nord exit.

Turn right following the signs for Arezzo and Monte Santa Maria Tiberina after 500 metres turn left, following signs for Trestina and Cortona. Follow this road until the next intersection and continue towards Monte Santa Maria Tiberina. This continues for another 10minutes until you reach a little town called San Secondo. In the middle of this town, there is a sign indicating right towards Monte Santa Maria Tiberina.
